Sox Summary: Red Sox back on win streak with win over Fish

Tim Wakefield pitched six strong innings in a 6-4 win for the Red Sox over the Florida Marlins on Thursday at City of Palms Park.

Wakefield gave up six hits, three runs, and three walks in the six innings, while striking out five.

Jeremy Hermida was 2-for-2, with an RBI, while Marco Scutaro finished 1-for-4, with two RBI.

The Red Sox will host Toronto at City of Palms Park on Friday afternoon.

Sox Summary: Red Sox swim past Marlins in Jupiter

The Red Sox downed the Florida Marlins, 9-0, at Roger Dean Stadium on Tuesday afternoon. Tim Wakefield was sharp in his second start of spring training, as the oldest tenured Red Sox tossed three innings giving up  just two hits for the win.

Josh Reddick went 3-for-4 and scored a pair of runs to help improve the team’s spring record to 5-2.

Former Sox prospect Anibal Sanchez took the loss for the Marlins (4-3), as he five hits, four earned runs, and three walks in two and one-third innings.

The Red Sox will return to City of Palms Park on Wednesday afternoon, as they welcome the Tampa Bay Rays for a 1:05 p.m. first pitch on WEEI.
